Adam Tann and Wayne Corden have both signed new deals with Orient after the two decided to help Orient in their quest for success in League One next season. Tann, who has impressed at both right back and centre back since joining in January from Notts County, has signed a one year deal. The 24 year old has had a remarkable season considering he was playing non-league football with Gravesend and Northfleet at the start of the campaign, but the former Cambridge man now finds himself playing in League One following Orient?s promotion.

?I’m delighted to have signed for Orient?, Tann said after signing a 12 month deal. ?I said when I joined that my ambition was to get in the side and help the team get promoted and it all worked out well?. The defender was quick to recognise how lucky he had been to have been given the chance by Martin Ling to join Orient. ?It was an unbelievable season for me – until the end of October I was going nowhere kicking a ball about by myself and when Orient came in for me I really wanted to seize my chance?. Tann went on to add, ?It’s quite unbelievable that I’ve ended the season by getting promoted and earning a contract for League One – you couldn’t have written the script?. Having enjoyed success at Brisbane Road, Tann is now concentrating on pre-season and another successful campaign. ?The most important thing for me is to get a full pre-season under my belt. I’ll be moving down to the area to ensure I’m properly settled and focused and I want to put all my energy into having another great season?. The former Cambridge man also insists that the O?s have nothing to fear in League One next season. ?I’ve got no doubts that this squad is capable of doing well in League One. We were the best footballing side in the division last year bar none and certainly one of the best I can remember coming up against in my career?.

Martin Ling was pleased to have secured Tann’s signature for Orient?s campaign in League One next season. ?Adam’s had an excellent time since he came here, he’s impressed us in training and in matches?. Ling also added that Tann?s ability to play in more than one position has benefited both Tann and the club. ?He’s very versatile and I think there’s more to come from him once he’s settled – especially after the year he’s just had?. Ling expects Tann to repay the faith shown in him by his manager and is expecting another solid campaign from the defender. ?We wanted him to prove to us he was worth keeping for next season, which he did, and I think he will prove again next year he’s worth keeping for even longer?.

Meanwhile, Wayne Corden has also signed for Orient on a two year deal after enjoying a six week loan spell at Brisbane Road. The former Scunthorpe winger was not offered a new deal by the Lincolnshire outfit and after some scintillating performances for the O?s, Martin Ling was more than happy to offer Corden a contract. Corden?s eight appearances in which he scored two superb goals have made him a fans favourite, whilst his ability to go past opponents with both feet have given Orient a new dimension to their attack.

Martin Ling was understandably thrilled at the capture of Corden. Ling commented that, ?It’s great news that Wayne has signed the contract we offered him. We had a few bits and pieces to sort out – specifically Wayne needed to agree to move down to the area, which he has done?. Ling went on to tell of what had attracted Corden to his thoughts. ?He’s a great player, and he proved that in the last few games by operating on both sides and weighing in with goals and set-pieces for us. The lads love him to bits, he plays like a Brazilian in training and impresses us all with his skills?.

Ling also cites Corden?s experience as the winger has enjoyed time in League One with both Mansfield and Scunthorpe in the past as well as at Port Vale. ?He’s got lots of experience in League One too which is invaluable, and at 30 he’s a good age to bring some balance to the squad. I’m delighted he’s on board with us for next season and it means I’m getting closer to having the full make-up of the squad decided?.

Great signings these two, Corden is pure class and Tann has been solid. Just need some central midfielders now I think.

Yeah, great stuff. Now lets get some more quality in. I can’t wait!

Two more pieces in the jigsaw. I reckon we still need a central defender and a central midfielder, maybe another striker if Jabo goes too.

  • LOFC4EVA says:

Dunno if Jabo will stay, says he wants to but he’s taking his time isn’t he?

Corden is quality, that goal at County was fantastic and that strike against Peterborough. Love him!
