Edwards, who replaces Wayne Burnett, has a wealth of experience having been assistant manager at St Albans as well as playing over 500 games for the likes of Southend and Peterborough.

Meanwhile, goalkeeping coach Kevin Dearden has extended his stay at Brisbane Road by signing a two-year deal

“We’re delighted to welcome Andy to the club,’ Williams told Orient’s official website. “He brings a lot of good ideas to the table and we’re looking forward to working with him.

“I’m pleased that Kevin Dearden has signed a new contract too. It’s great that the senior coaching team are all staying in place for next year.2
