Leyton Orient produced a stunning fight back to shock Peterborough United as they succeeded 3-1 at London Road. A brace from David Mooney either side of Dean Cox`s goal ensured the O`s returned to east London with maximum points.

Both sides began the contest looking for an early opener. Kevin Lisbie should have shot sooner after receiving a cross from Moses Odubajo but he dwelt on the ball for too long whilst Jamie Jones had to repel Tyrone Barnett`s effort down the other end.

Shortly afterwards the game lulled as the two teams settled into the contest and it wasn`t until just before the half hour mark that another chance came.

From an in swinging free kick which the Orient defence failed to deal with, the ball fell to Tommy Rowe who poked the ball home.

Now behind the visitors upped their tempo and were unlucky not to level sooner when David Mooney audacious volley beat Bobby Olejnik in the Posh goal but cannoned off the crossbar to safety.

The Irishman wouldn`t have to wait much longer to have another opportunity to score. This time his looping effort from inside the box went over the keeper and into the net to the delight of the strong travelling support.

Lisbie almost grabbed the lead before the break but saw his effort stopped by Olejnik.

The second period saw Orient come out with all guns blazing and they netted a second four minutes after the restart. Mooney flicked the ball on for Lisbie who further headed it on into the path of Cox who cleverly saw the keeper rushing out to challenge him only to beautifully dink the ball over him into an empty net.

By now the visitors were rocking and they added the finishing touch ten minutes later when Mooney emphatically sealed his brace.

Near the right touchline, Mooney ran in towards the box and then unleashed the perfect low angled drive which Olejnik could only watch nestled in the bottom far corner.

Orient could have added more gloss to the score line but had to settle for three as took a valuable win.
