Orient manager Russell Slade was delighted with his side’s performance at Peterborough United on Saturday.

Speaking after the game at London Road to the Leyton Orient website, the boss expressed his pleasure at his team’s display.

Slade said :‘It was obviously a very big hurdle that we had to overcome but I thought we did that extremely well. I think the pleasing part was despite us (Orient) going a goal down, possibly against the run of play, is that we stayed in control and continued to create chances all afternoon.’

David Mooney was the man of the match scoring a brilliant brace to stun third place Posh, and whilst Slade praised the Irishman he was quick to also compliment the rest of his troops.

‘His (Mooney) form has been remarkable, he’s on 12 goals now and his performance today was excellent but it would be very difficult and unfair of me to pick out one player today, I thought as a team we looked very solid and very resilient.

The O’s scored three on the day but could have had more in a dominant showing and the manager was thrilled to see his attacking force working well.

‘I think you saw that today, there was some wonderful football and interplay between (Kevin) Lisbie,(Moses) Odubajo, Mooney and the midfield. I thought going forward we were a continual threat.’
