In only his second game for Cyprus Jason Demetriou sparkled, albeit in front of a tiny crowd of 300.

Earning his first start for the full National team, Demetriou had a hand in two of the goals as Cyprus ran out 3-2 victors.

The hosts opened the scoring from the spot on thirty minutes when Christos Marangos tucked the ball away following a foul on Pavlou by Martin Dobrotka.

Cyprus really took the game by the scruff of the neck and extended their lead in the second half when Marios Nicolaou converted Demetriou’s pass.

The third goal came inside the last ten when Ioannis Okkas finished off some good work by Demetriou again.

The Slovaks left it late but hit back twice with goals from Robert Jez and Erik Jendrisek to ensure a nervy finish.

The other game of the night finished with Ukraine beating Serbia 1-0 to win the mini-tournament.
