The O’s have been linked with defender Troy Brown, who is looking for a new club after leaving Ipswich Town.

Brown, 20, signed for Ipswich from Fulham in 2009 and made 16 appearances last season but decided against signing a new 12-month contract.

BBC Sport reports that we are interested in Brown, along with League Two side Rotherham.

He can play at either centre-back and right-back so would be a very useful signing, especially after the departure of Whing.

Getting a defender to cover and push the likes of Chorley, Forbes and Omozusi for a starting spot is crucial to maintain depth in the squad ahead of the new season.

The fact that he was also at Premier League Fulham at an early stage in his career is a good sign that he has potential and at 20 there is definitely enough time for development.

Would you welcome Troy Brown at Orient? Do we need another defender? Leave your comments below….
