Orient’s judicial review denied

Orient’s next step in the possibly very long process of contesting West Ham’s move to the Olympic Stadium has been blocked by the High Court.

With this story set to run and my patience over Orient being continually ignored running thin, I will keep this update short.

Orient sought a judicial review but the move has been rejected, with the OPLC saying on skysports.com: “We are pleased with the ruling and continue to make good progress in our negotiations with the preferred bidder in order to be in a position to agree the final terms for the stadium’s lease.”

The argument of the small club being bullied around is still relevant but at the same time Tottenham’s application for a judicial review has also been rejected.

In a statement on leytonorient.com, the O’s said: ‘The Club continues with its Judicial Review against the Government and arbitration over the Premier League’s decision to allow West Ham United to move to the Olympic Stadium without taking into consideration the adverse affect on Leyton Orient.’

The next possible step for Orient (and Spurs) is to take up an oral hearing in relation to the decisions.

Do you think Orient have any chance of over-turning the decision? Leave your comments below….
