Hi There,

My name is Jonesy and I’ll be looking to put in my two pennies worth for the Vital Orient site every now and again, starting with today.

I am fresh out of university, eager to carve a career in sports journalism, so where better to begin than by discussing my beloved O’s!?

I have been going along to Brisbane Road since the tender age of 3, my first game being a 1-0 victory over Exeter in November 1990. Favourite O’s players during my time are mostly fairly obvious ones: Dean Smith, Locky, Super Carl Griffiths, Craig Easton, Steele-O and, most recently, Tammy.

Most memorable O’s moments include Fulham, Charlton and Portsmouth away in the FA Cup, Locky’s play-off screamer at Brissie v Hull in 2001, and any one of the own-goals scored by Southend. Of course, Lee Steele’s goal at Oxford goes without saying.

Hopefully you’ll be hearing a lot from me over the coming months, but for now, fingers crossed we can sneak something at the Withdean!

Up the O’s,

Jonesy
