Leyton Orient crashed to only their third defeat of the season as Crawley Town grabbed the points in E10 on Saturday.

Orient began the game positively with Shaun Batt the first to have a shot on target but his effort was comfortably saved by Paul Jones.

The hosts then went in front on 14 minutes. Batt was involved as he fed Kevin Lisbie who ripped through the heart of the Crawley defence. His pass eventually found Moses Odubajo who coolly slotted home.

Despite being a goal behind the visitors took control of the match in worsening conditions.

They were eventually rewarded with a deserved equaliser on 36 minutes when confusion in the Orient penalty area from a looping cross met an unmarked Gary Alexander who nodded home past Jamie Jones.

The hosts unable to control the game were struggling with the wind and rain circling Brisbane Road. With moments to go of the first half Crawley had the chance to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty. Lloyd James had handled the ball inside the area according to referee Kettle. Alexander had the chance to make it a brace from the spot, but his effort cannoned off the post in to the path of team mate Andy Drury who quickly netted to give the visitors a half time lead.

After the restart Orient pushed for an equaliser but without creating clear goalscoring opportunities as the Crawley defence held firm.

Down the other end the Red Devils were still looking hungry for more goals with Alexander narrowly missing from a tight angle.

The match was eventually wrapped up 15 minutes from time when Nicky Adams pounced on a Mathieu Baudry mistake to delightfully chip over an onrushing Jones in the Orient goal.

Marvin Bartley bundled in a late consolation with four minutes of normal time remaining, but Orient couldn`t create another opening as their day ended in bitter disappointment.
