The League 2 season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.
Doncaster’s winless run went on but they remain three points ahead of Plymouth. Carlisle are a further two points back. Leyton Orient and Newport hold the unwanted relegation places.

Despite a winless run being extended to four games Doncaster’s 1-1 draw with Luton – a third draw in this run – Donny’s three point lead at the top was maintained. The Hatters – who are now unbeaten in four – did slip five points off the automatic promotion spots though.
Hartlepool were denied a win – with it now five without one – by a late equaliser at Victoria Park by Plymouth. The 1-1 draw did see Pools drop to 22nd but extended the gap to safety to three points. The Pilgrims remain 2nd but three off top spot.
Accrington moved four points clear of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win over Colchester, which damaged the U’s play-off hopes. Despite this second successive defeat they remain just three points off the top seven.
Barnet were a minute from moving into the top seven as they led Portsmouth. However, an added time equaliser meant the Bees had to settle for a 1-1 draw at the Hive. Pompey’s unbeaten run was extended to three but the gap to Carlisle in 3rd was increased to six points.
Blackpool have become the draw specialists with a sixth in the last nine coming against Crewe. A two nil lead was lost by Pools with Alexandra grabbing a point two minutes from time in this 2-2 draw to extend their unbeaten run to three.
Newport were on to extend their unbeaten run to seven with a victory over Cambridge. However, the U’s battled back to claim an added time winner in a 3-2 success at the Abbey Stadium. The Exiles are now seven from safety.
Back-to-back defeats were ended when Cheltenham beat Yeovil – a first defeat in five – 2-0 at Whaddon Road to move three points clear of the relegation zone.
The poor Crawley form was continued when they were beaten by Morecambe to leave the Red Devils with a little worry about being drawn into a relegation battle. The Shrimps reaction to a first defeat in seven was this 3-1 win to move them to within six points of the top seven.
Exeter failed to win for a third game when the Grecians – for a second time in a row – drew with Stevenage. Boro’s 1-1 draw at St James Park extended the unbeaten run to five that closed the gap to the play-offs to a point.
Grimsby ran out impressive 3-0 victors over Mansfield – a first defeat in 10 – at Blundell Park. The Stags’ loss didn’t cost them a play-off place though.
After battling back from two down Leyton Orient looked to have gained a point against relegation rivals Notts County. However, there was a late sting in the tail with Magpies – to extend an unbeaten run to three – winning this five goal thriller 3-2. It also meant Orient remain in the bottom two and three points from safety.
Wycombe’s third successive defeat means the Chairboys remain – albeit just a point – outside of the play-off positions. Carlisle’s 2-1 win took them to within two points of Plymouth in 2nd place and extended the gap between the Cumbrians and 4th placed Luton to five points.
