Real Madrid starlet Jaime Navarro is reportedly set for a trial with Orient after his contract at Bernabeu comes to an end.

Navarro, 20, plays in defence and Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo recommended a move to England would be good for his game. After a trail at Motherwell last month, Navarro will hope to impress Russell Slade at the O’s.

Having a player from a European giant like Real Madrid makes him seem like a very exciting prospect and one that would add youth, flair and talent to the squad.

Navarro said in the ESPN Soccernet: “For me as a defender, England would give me the opportunity to develop my skills.” He joined Madrid at 16, working through the youth ranks before spending time playing for second reserve side Real Madrid C.

His agent Jonathan Hope who is trying to find the youngster a club in England said on ESPN Soccernet: “When Jaime settles and fills out physically then be assured he is going to be a top player.

“But we have to take one step at a time and we think that giving him experience in the lower leagues is the best way forward for him.

“He wants to play at the highest level he can but he`s not afraid to start lower down and make a name for himself in England.”

Based on the success of his trial Navarro will hopefully try his luck with the O’s in the lower English leagues. He could also be the foreign player linked with the club back in May.
