Orient have failed in their attempt to bring Macclesfield striker Jon Parkin to Brisbane Road. The 24 year old hit the net 26 times last season and scored twice in the recent 5-4 win at Wycombe. Chester City and Lincoln have also had bids turned down for the striker whose contract expires at the end of the season. With Macclesfield in huge debt it had been expected that some players would have to be sold to raise funds, but they are adamant that Parkin will not be leaving anytime soon.

Orient are after a new striker with the long term injury to Efe Echanomi and doubts over the fitness of Lee Steele leaving Martin Ling with only two fit strikers.
