Orient striker Efe Echanomi could return to the O`s squad by the end of the season according to Martin Ling.

The 20-year-old front man has missed the last fifteen months of the season with a broken leg and a knee problem but could yet make a recovery in time to help Orient retain their League One status.

The injury-hit striker returned to training recently and O`s boss Martin Ling sees no reason why Echanomi cannot expected to be back involved with first team affairs come April.

Ling said: ‘Efe is still a long way off from even being considered for a place on the bench, but I wouldn’t say his season is over by any means. He has been training well for the last week or so and things have certainly gone a lot smoother than when he came back a couple of months ago from the original broken leg injury he had.’

‘We still can’t say for sure if the trouble he has had with his knee was because he was over compensating while running, but he seems to be moving a lot more freely now. Hopefully if there are no further setbacks Efe will play for the reserves next week and their could be a chance that everything being well he may even have a part to play in the final month of the season.’
