Josh Wright’s first goal for Leyton Orient sealed a crucial win at Coventry.

The midfielder scored the only goal of the match on the 78th minute to move the O’s out of the drop zone for the first time since January.

The first half saw a limited number of chances for each side in what was a cagey affair, but Chris Dagnall had a fantastic chance in added time when he spurned a header from close range.

Following the interval it was pretty much all Coventry as the first hit the post with Gavin Ward’s strike before George Thomas had an effort cleared off the line by Mathieu Baudry.

Against the run of play however Orient made that vital breakthrough when Dagnall picked out Wright unmarked to his right and the midfielder fired the ball beyond Lee Burge at his near post to send the travelling fans wild.

The win moves Orient up to 18th in League 1 and they are next in action on Easter Monday when they host Gillingham at Brisbane Road.
