Djilali On The Way?

Todays Daily Star has reported that Kieran Djilali is on trial with Orient and that Russell Slade will make his mind up on the twenty year old this week.

The Lambeth born winger is apparently training with The O’s after leaving Palace at the end of the season. During the 2010-11 season he was on loan at League Two champions Chesterfield for a second spell and has previously been on loan at Crawley Town.

The young winger trialled with Manchester United in 2007 and made twenty-eight appearances for The Eagles between 2008 and 2011, where he scored once against Doncaster Rovers in February 2010. Whilst at Crawley in the 2009-10 season, Djilali made five appearances before he made eighteen appearances for The Spireites over the past two seasons.

Orient are currently without a winger after Paul-José M’Poku returned to Tottenham and Djilali could well be his replacement. However, I can’t see Russell making a decision before he’s seen the lad play so we could well see Djilali play in pre-season before he does or doesn’t sign for the club.
