Clueless Orient Terrier-ised

Passion. Fight. Direction. Motivation. Pride. Five words lost on the players of Leyton Orient after our dismal showing against Huddersfield on Saturday.

Goals from Jordan Rhodes and Theo Robinson gave the points to the Yorkshiremen as Orient failed to threaten the Terriers goal at all during the game.

The blame has to land at the feet of Geraint Williams. He decided that we would line up against two of the biggest centre-backs in the league and would ‘test’ them with long balls and unsuprisingly this didn’t work as Peter Clarke and Neal Trotman handled every long ball we threw at them with ease.

Our lack of creativity can be seen through the stats from Saturday’s game as Huddersfield had ten shots and four of those on target and we had two and none on target, showing how one sided the game was and leaves us with one win from the last nine games and the fans’ feelings were heard at the final whistle as the gutless Orient players left the pitch to a chorus of ‘boos’ from the fans.

The defeat leaves us in a precarious position, just five points above Exeter City and with Oldham Athletic, Hartlepool United and Tranmere Rovers beneath us all with games in hand which, I’m sure, will leave us with a nailbiting finish.
