Leyton Orient have signed Brighton & Hove Albion defender Andrew Whing on loan.

Whing, 26, will be with the O’s till January 3rd and could feature in Orient’s League 1 game against Rochdale on Saturday.

The defender played under O’s boss Russell Slade at Brighton and Slade is happy to have sealed his signature on loan.

Slade told leytonorient.com: ‘Andy will give us more strength in depth defensively.

‘Andy’s a really good type so I’m pleased that we’ve got his signature.’

Whing can play across the back four and his versatility will be very useful over the winter months. Whing can offer cover to the current defenders or he could slot in at left-back if Slade chooses to push Charlie Daniels forward.
