Leyton Orient’s League 2 season continued with a defeat against Newport at Brisbane Road on Saturday.

Orient slipped to another defeat with Newport going away with a one-nil win.

Poor defending at a Newport corner allowed Jackson cross into Turley who was unmarked to put the visitors ahead just past the half hour mark.

An equaliser couldn’t be found before the interval or in the second half with Orient slipping to a home setback with Andy Hessenthaler looking for a quick reaction.

Here’s a round up of the League 2 action from the other matches played.

A hangover from the play-off defeat last season for Plymouth seems to be ongoing with Argyle beaten again.

This time Plymouth suffered a one-nil defeat at Carlisle who had held Portsmouth last weekend with Pompey playing out another draw (one-one) at Crewe.

Grimsby’s return to the Football League saw them win last time but the Mariners were beaten two-one at Wycombe this time with Colchester, relegated from League 1 last season, up and running with a two-nil win over Cambridge at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Blackpool were another to drop into League 2 for this season, after a league and cup win, were beaten two-one at Exeter.
