A third successive win – to move 12 points clear of trouble – should have all but secured Accrington’s Football League survival.
The likelihood of Leyton Orient dropping into non-league was increased after Orient – who are now bottom of the league and seven points from safety – were thrashed 5-0 with three of the five goals came late on for Stanley.
