Orient say farewell to Lee Steele after the former Orient striker joined Chester City. Steele, it is understood, wanted to move closer to his hometown of Liverpool whilst also ensuring first team football.

The deal is initially a loan deal until the transfer window opens in January whereupon Steele will join City on a permanent basis.

It is thought that Lee was not going to be offered a longer deal at Brisbane Road and hence could not jeopardise his future by staying in London.

Steele was a wonderful player to have at Leyton Orient with his goal scoring prowess and his determination fully appreciated at Brisbane Road.

Orient fans will be upset to see Lee go after all he did at his time at Brisbane Road including his last minute strike at Oxford to take the O`s into League One.

Lee will be remembered with great affection at Brisbane Road and we wish him the best of luck at Chester City.
