Russell Slade was quick to praise his players after the O`s 2-0 victory over fellow top half side MK Dons on Saturday.

Firstly the Orient boss paid tribute to goalscorer Gary Sawyer. The full back netted the opener on his return from injury and Slade was delighted with the 27 year old`s goal.

“It (the goal) was unstoppable really, that was nice to see and to see someone like Gary to get the first goal which was the most important goal was great.”

Sawyer was part of the defence which held on to a clean sheet which included makeshift central defender Romain Vincelot. Slade was impressed with the Frenchman`s performance.

“I thought Vincelot was awesome at the back, him and (Nathan Clarke) Clarkey. I thought they were terrific and they snuffed everything out by and large, and at the end of the day they have given us another clean sheet and out thirteenth win at home.

Jamie Jones also was at his best, as he repelled two excellent Shaun Williams free kicks in a commanding display by the O`s number one. And the Orient gaffer was pleased with Jones`s goalkeeping.

“He`s making saves when he needs to at the minute. And he`s not had a lot to do for long periods of the game but he`s made those saves when he`s had to.”
