Shrewsbury has been kind enough to take Joe Keith off Orient`s hands for a month after the 28-year-old joined the Salop outfit on a month`s loan deal.
The former Colchester man has not featured too often for the O`s this season and has become surplus to requirements after several poor displays both last season and this season.
Shrewsbury are currently ninth in League Two and will be pushing for the play- offs something that Keith will be hoping to help with.
“This loan gives him the chance to get some first team football under his belt and he will return to us better for it”, commented O`s manager Martin Ling.
Speaking to ShrewsWeb this morning Gary Peters revealed that he was bringing in Keith to help create more chances for the Shrews: “Joe Keith is coming in on a month’s loan, it’s something I arranged last Friday as I felt that we hadn’t been creating enough from free play.”
‘Joe is an out and out left-winger, he’s played left-back as well, but he’s coming to play on the left-wing. He’s a tricky player, good ball player, can pick a pass and find players and has a great cross
Shrewsbury have already hinted that despite the deal only being for one month, it could be a lot longer if Keith impresses. “It’s a month loan with a view to something more long term”, said Peters.
Vital Orient wishes Joe all the best at Gay Meadow.
