Deadline Day is equivalent to Christmas Day for Football fans across the country. Its a day we all tune in to Sky Sports News and hope our club makes a signing or two and unlike previous years us Orient fans have our eyes glued to Sky Sports News and keep hitting F5 to refresh the Orient website.

Barry Hearn was interviewed last night and was quoted as saying two players would be coming in today, as rumours circulated that one of our current crop of players was heading for the exit.

Alex Revell has been linked with a move to League Two side Rotherham United in a deal worth £75,000 to the O’s. Its something that has come out of the blue as Revs sat out our 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers in the Carling Cup last night. Revell joined the club last summer and left many O’s fans underwhelmed by his signing, however, Revel hit back at those critics and made 50 appearances and scored 16 times. Revell’s work rate is second to none and a departure has come as a shock to many Orient fans.

A replacement looks set to be Bristol Rovers’ Jo Kuffour. The ex-Arsenal and Torquay United man has expressed his desire to leave The Gas and is expected to return to London, according to Rovers’ boss Paul Buckle. The Edmonton born 29 year old made 46 appearances for Rovers last season and scored 9 times as the Pirates were relegated from League One. A record in front of goal that will hardly leave League One defenders quaking in their boots.

Another name linked via the ever reliable Orient messageboard is Paul Benson of Charlton Athletic. During the summer we were quite envious as it looked like Benson was on his way to Notts County, however, personal terms couldn’t be agreed by County and Benson so Benson stayed at The Valley. Benson has made just two appearances this season and has been linked with League Two side Bradford City. It has been alleged that Benson wants to stay in the South so hopefully we make a move for the 31 year old.

The craziest story of the deadline day is Orient have signed two Brazilians. The Daily Mail has reported that two Brazilian teenagers are on their way to Orient having secured European passpoorts. Roger and Mayrinik of Linhares’ under-17’s have impressed on a tour of England and done enough to join the might of Leyton Orient.
