Orient got their 2008/2009 seaosn off to a bang with a routine 4-1 win over Belgian minnows KFCO Wikrijk in Antwerp on Wednesday evening.

After a decidedly lacklustre first half with The O’s having much of the possesion, the two teams went in at 0-0.

However, after the break, the floodgates opened. A Ryan Jarvis tap-in sparked Adam Boyd (from the penalty spot), Bradley Gray (with a sublime finish) and Jason Demetriou to score on their first outings of the season. Wilrijk grabbed one back to make it 2-1, after a mistake by left-back Aiden Palmer.

Before his goal, Demetriou missed a penalty and towards the end, a KFCO defender earned himself a red card.

In front of 50 jubilant travelling O’s, it was a comfortable yet worthwhile match for Martin Ling’s men.
