Leyton Orient were forced to settle for a point at fellow relegation rivals Crewe Alexandra despite a dominant second half showing.

The O’s got off to the worst possible start when Lauri Dalla Valle fired Crewe ahead on the 10th minute, but Orient were soon level when Darius Henderson volleyed home Marvin Bartley’s cross.

Jobi McAnuff came close to firing the O’s ahead just before half time but Paul Rachubka managed to keep his effort out.

Orient came out for the second half with much more urgency and looked the stronger side, but could not find a way beyond Rachubka.

With just over 20 minutes remaining Chris Dagnall managed to get in behind the Crewe defence but was unable to make the most of his chance as Rachubka impressively tipped his shot over the bar.

The point does no favours for either side in truth although Orient move up to 19th but only remain outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
