Leyton Orient’s FA Cup run ended as soon as it started after Oldham defeated the O’s in the first round.

Mike Jones free-kick eight minutes before halftime was enough to decide the tie at Boundary Park.

Nathan Clarke did beat Paul Rachubka in the Oldham goal with a header on the 74th minute from a Dean Cox corner but it was ruled out for a foul.

The defeat see’s Mauro Milanese’s side now only left in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, which is next up for the O’s on Tuesday when they face Northampton Town at Brisbane Road.
