Leyton Orient youngster George Porter has joined Lewes on a one-month loan deal.

Porter, who arrived at the O’s this summer, has struggled to make an impact on the O’s first team and will look to gain experience and match-time on loan at the Blue Square Bet South side.

The 18-year-old moved to Lewes on Friday and made his debut only 24 hours later against Dartford. The midfielder played for the full 90 minutes in Lewes’ 1-1 draw.

Porter joined Orient from Cray Wanderers and a lot was expected of him. The skillful and quick youngster can play in midfielder or attack but has struggled to get into the first team ahead of the likes of Dean Cox, Scott McGleish, Alex Revell and Ryan Jarvis.

Whilst Porter has been slightly disappointing since his arrival, he has not been given many chances and is still young. Hopefully he can continue to play and develop at Lewes and come back to Orient and start challenging for a first team place.
