Weather permitting Leyton Orient will face Blue Square North side Droylsden at the Butchers Arms Ground Monday evening (19:45) in the FA Cup second round.

Whilst the match may look like an easy route into round three for Orient, the ‘magic’ of the FA Cup may help the smaller team packed into their own ground. A good atmosphere and the fact that the match has oddly been picked to be shown on TV may work against the O’s.

Russell Slade has the option to pick a strong side, the only notable absentee being defender Elliot Omozusi due to suspension. Or he could give fringe players (such as Mike Cestor, James Walker, Aaron Brown etc..) a shot with a busy and important league schedule in the winter period.

Droylsden beat Havent & Waterlooville in round one of the FA Cup 2-0 earlier this month whilst Orient needed a first round replay to get past local rivals Dagenham & Redbridge.

The winner will face Championship side Norwich City away in the third round on the weekend of January 8th. It is not the most exciting tie in prospect after missing out on a Premier League team but if the O’s can get past Droylsden, a clash with Norwich is a winnable tie.
