Leyton Orient’s hopes for survival took a damning blow as they were thumped 6-1 at MK Dons.

The O’s were second best throughout the whole afternoon and endured a dismal seven minute spell midway into the first half when Dean Bowditch, Rob Hall and Will Grigg all scored for the hosts.

Hall then added his second on the 37th minute with a phenomenal volley.

Following the break Orient remained on the back foot and Hall completed his hat-trick on the hour.

Jay Simpson gave the travelling fans something to cheer with just over 20 minutes remaining as he pulled a goal back but MK Dons added a sixth when Dele Alli rifled home a shot in off the post.

The defeat leaves Orient two points adrift in the relegation zone with three matches left to play.
