Leyton Orient suffered their biggest home defeat in nearly four years after losing 4-1 to Scunthorpe United.

Fabio Liverani’s men went into the break two goals down after Liam O’Neil had fired the Iron ahead and Gary McSheffrey had doubled their advantage.

Tom Hopper then extended the visitors lead four minutes after the restart with a close range finish.

Substitute Darius Henderson pulled a goal back for the O’s from the penalty spot on the 68th minute but Hopper added Scunthorpe’s fourth ten minutes from time. The humbling defeat drops Orient down to 23rd in League 1 and three points behind Crewe who occupy the final place above the relegation zone.
