Wanted. Two strikers wanted at London based football league club. Must have a proven goalscoring record, the ability to hold the ball up and be able to perform consistently. All interested contact Mr Ling at Leyton Orient football club.

Pre-season started today and the four strikers manager Martin Ling wanted by this time, stands only at two.

The club have been linked with a host of players in the off-season; Richard Walker, Gary Hooper and former striker Lee Steele, however no-one yet has replaced Gary Alexander or Ryan Jarvis.

Out of those three Walker has to be the first choice. He has consistenly scored goals for Bristol Rovers, whether the team around his has been playing well or not. The Birmingham born striker is a natural finisher and could be perfect for the club.

If the rumours of a Lee Steele return are true then a partnership with Walker does seem exciting. Steele worked very well with Alexander when he was at the club. Walker seems of the same ilk as Alexander and it could prove to be a successful partnership. There is a lot of work to be done by Ling if he is to bring both players back, especially as Walker has stated he would like to stay at Bristol Rovers. The fact that he is has yet to sign a contract would obviously keep Orient interested. Both would be greatly appreciated by the fans as vital orient readers at the moment still believe in Steeles’ abilities and would like him to return to Leyton.

There is no doubt Orient do need to strikers and Ling has said that he is willing to pay a fee. However with pre-season starting time is running out for the gaffer to bring in the quality required to push the club to a play-off place.
