Orient`s Clayton Fortune has reiterated his desire to leave Brisbane Road with the defender keen to make the switch to League One rivals Port Vale.

The 24-year old, who still has one year of his contract left with the O`s, played 15 games on-loan at Port Vale and is eager to stay with Martin Foyle`s men.

He turned down a free transfer move to Vale in January as Vale’s wage offer was too far below his deal at Orient.

But with less time remaining on his contract at Leyton Orient, he is hoping the clubs can thrash out an agreement if he is still wanted by Vale.

He said: ‘I really do want to stay, but it is out of my hands and up to the manager.

‘I have been unlucky with injuries, but hopefully next year I can really show everyone what I can do.’

Fortune, who scored in Orient`s 4-2 defeat against Sierra Leone, had endured a miserable start to his career at Brisbane Road as the O`s failed to compete for the opening third of the season.

However, there will not be too many O`s fans sad to see the defender go as it is quite clear that he does not have a future in E10.
