Leyton Orient midfielder Adam Chambers is facing a month out after having surgery to fix a calf problem.

Chambers has been suffering with the injury for a while but O’s manager Russell Slade hopes to have Chambers back at the beginning of December.

Slade told leytonorient.com: ‘We were having to manage him to get him through, but we’ve nailed the problem down, he’s had the operation and we’re hoping he’ll be back in less than four weeks.’

Chambers’ injury is a blow for Orient during their tough start to the League 1 campaign. His defensive qualities, versatility and consistent performances have proven to be very useful for the O’s.

Orient will now have to rely on only a few midfielder options and hope that the club don’t suffer any more injury blows going into the tough christmas period.
