Orient Dealt Batt Blow

Shaun Batt could be out for the rest of the season after tearing his hamstring in the match against Gillingham on Boxing Day.

The forward, who has scored 9 goals this season, was replaced by Robbie Simpson after 41 minutes.

When speaking to BBC London 94.9, manager Russell Slade revealed the extent of Batt’s injury.

‘He’s torn his hamstring quite badly,’ he said.

‘We don’t know whether it will require surgery or not. He couldn’t have done much more to it,’

‘You’re probably writing him off for most of the season, if not all of it.’

Batt joins fellow striker David Mooney on the Orient injury list, although the Irishman could be back playing by mid January.
