Orient striker Lee Steele is reportedly on the verge of a move to League Two side, Chester City.

The 32 year old striker has failed to hold down a first team place despite scoring four times so far this season.

Chester manager, Mark Wright, is keen to sign the Liverpool born striker and give Steele the chance to play first team football.

‘Lee is keen to move back to his native North West, and I know if we can conclude a deal it will benefit both parties,’ Wright told City’s official website.

‘He is a proven goalscorer, and would be an asset to the club.’

Wright is also reportedly looking at signing Brentford striker Callum Willock if he is unsuccesful in bringing Steele to Chester.

City are currently looking for a striker after the departure of former Everton man, Michael Branch.

Don’t go Steeeeeeelo! Hope Lingy knows what he’s doing as Steelo is our most natural goal scorer by a long way. If he goes we’re gonna miss him.

Steele is a legend, I’ll never forget that goal at Oxford. If he does go he leaves with my best wishes, he has been superb for us.

A quality player that always gives everything for the cause. It will be sad to see him go if he does leave. However, I doubt Lingy would give him a new contract in the summer so Lee needs to sort himself out. Hope he stays though.

Be sad to see him go but not surprising. He has hardly played and Jabo and SGA look good at the moment. Come on Lingy, bring in LEON KNIGHT KNIGHT KNIGHT!

As a City fan we’d love him to join us apparently though we are no longer the only club in for him by the sounds of things he wants to move to the north west and Shrewsbury Bury and ourselves are interested.
