Leyton Orient dropped back into the relegation zone after suffering a 2-0 defeat at Colchester.

Gavin Massey fired the hosts into a 14th minute lead when he bundled the ball home from close range.

Colchester then doubled their lead early into the second half when Kaspars Gorkss headed beyond Gary Woods in the Orient goal.

Chris Dagnall’s header looked to have pulled one back with 20 minutes remaining but the flag was raised for offside.

Elliott Hewitt was shown a straight red for the U’s late on for a challenge on Romain Vincelot but the defeat see’s Orient move down to 22nd and three points from safety.
