Ryan Lowe’s sole goal was enough to condemn Orient to their fourth straight defeat and heap more pressure on the shoulders of Russell Slade.
The Slade bus rolled up to Stadium MK and was parked in front of Ryan Allsop as MK Dons dominated proceedings in the first half.
The onslaught on the Orient goal was successful when Scouser Lowe tapped in a low cross from Dean Bowditch.
The first half, like many for Orient, saw very few chances for Slade’s men as we managed one shot on target in the opening 45 minutes. That is no feat to turn your nose up at either, as under Slade’s current style of play one shot is a fantastic achievement for a side devoid of goals and points.
The second half saw a more attacking Orient outfit as David Mooney had three chances, however, all three chances were straight at the MK Dons keeper.
Slade has since said that Moses Odubajo, again operating at right back, become a man during the course of the Dons game and the talented South Londoner was also given credit by Dons boss Karl Robinson who brought on ex-loanee Adam Chicksen to control the pacy wide man. The prospects of facing a player who looks out place in the Football League must have really scared young Moses.
Kevin Lisbie, Dean Cox and Jimmy Smith were all thrown on in desperation by Slade but the trio couldn’t muster up an equaliser, despite Lisbie picking up a booking for handling the ball into the net.
The loudest cheer from the away end came when our buffoon of a leader was sent from the touchline with only minutes left.
The defeat now means Orient haven’t scored a goal in six hours, scored one goal in eight and a half hours at home, have won once in seven games, lost their fourth consecutive game and scored more than once in a game on two occasions this season from nineteen games. All of these facts and still Russell Slade is employed by our club.
