Leyton Orient are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s midweek action.

The performance by Gavin Massey in the three nil victory over Stevenage last Tuesday at Brisbane Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Massey was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Massey was employed as one of three men behind the striker as Orient hosted Stevenage on Tuesday, and the summer signing revelled in the role during the 3-0 victory. The 23-year-old was a constant threat to Boro, and his prowess in front of goal shone through with two instinctive strikes.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Massey for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Bartosz Bialkowski (Ipswich Town), Nathan Smith (Port Vale), Ryan Edwards (Morecambe), Carl Magnay (Hartlepool United), Brennan Dickenson (Colchester United), Isaac Hayden (Newcastle United), Ryan Leonard (Southend United), Ricky Holmes (Charlton Athletic), Tom Nichols (Peterborough United), Ched Evans (Chesterfield), Gavin Massey (Leyton Orient).

Manager Nigel Clough (Burton Albion).
