With a busy summer period ahead for Orient boss Russell Slade, it appears he has already been on the lookout for potential new recruits.

The O`s gaffer was reported to be in attendance at last week`s Blue Square Premier clash between Braintree Town and Southport.

Two potential players he could have been looking at are Southport`s Karl Ledsham and Shaun Whalley. Both players have been rumoured to be attracting interest from a higher level and could be allowed to leave Haig Avenue in the summer.

Another possible target could be Braintree Town`s Kenny Davis. The young central midfielder is captain of Alan Devonshire`s side and has also appeared for the England C team, the non league representatives of the national game.

With the new Football League rules reducing turnover spending from 65 to 60 percent on wages for next season, Slade is going to have to unearth some gems if he is to keep up the performance of this season`s squad.
