After being knocked out of the FA Cup by Yeovil on Saturday, it is back to league action for Russell Slade’s team when they travel to Shrewsbury on Tuesday night.
Graham Turner’s side currently sit 17th in the League One table and will be hoping to increase the gap between themselves and Crewe, who currently occupy the final relegation spot only two points behind.
A win however for Orient will see them leapfrog promotion rivals Wolves up to second place and close the gap to a single point behind leaders Brentford.
VitalOrient takes a closer look at the League One clash.
Shrewsbury Town Team News:
The hosts could be without midfielder Luke Summerfield who picked up a thigh injury.
Adam Reach is unavailable as the winger returned to parent club Middlesbrough to discuss his future.
Tom Eaves could start after his loan deal from Bolton was extended on Monday.
Player to watch: Jon Taylor
The winger is Shrewsbury’s second top goalscorer this season with four goals and is a vital part of Graham Turner’s team.
Since making his debut in 2010, Taylor has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the side.
Taylor scored at Orient last season when the O’s ran out 2-1 winners.
Leyton Orient Team News:
Romain Vincelot (knee) is set to remain on the sidelines.
Marvin Bartley is a doubt with a back injury.
Orient’s newest addition Jamar Loza could be set to feature after completing his loan from Norwich.
Player to watch: Lloyd James
Without his usual midfield partner, Romain Vincelot, the pressure will be on James to lead the Orient midfield.
The creative midfielder has six assists to his name this season and with the recent weather conditions bound to have had an effect on the pitch, James’ delivery could well be the difference.
Match Facts & Stats
The two sides have never played each other in any cup competition.
Only nine of the 53 meetings have ended in a draw.
Orient have won all three fixtures since Shrewsbury returned to League One.
The referee in charge of the clash will be Scott Mathieson.
