Dean Cox could miss the start of the season after suffering a knee injury in training.

Cox who has scored twice in pre-season, was absent for yesterday’s draw with Tamworth when it was revealed that the diminutive winger had damaged his right knee in preparations on Monday.

Orient manager Russell Slade confirmed Cox’s injury after the Tamworth match and hopes that the former Brighton man will be fit for the season opener against Carlisle on August 3rd.

With a small squad, Slade will hope for no more major injury scares as he looks to prepare his team for the upcoming challenge of the 2013/14 campaign.
