Mathieu Baudry has signed a contract extension at Leyton Orient ensuring that the elegant defender will be contracted at Brisbane Road until 2016.

Baudry was last week reported as being close to agreeing a new deal with the E10 club and finally has signed up for a further three years.

Speaking to the club website the Frenchman expressed his delight at signing new terms.

‘I’m very happy for it to be done, it’s been agreed in principle for some time but there were a couple of minor details to sort and I’m glad it’s done now.’

And his manager Russell Slade was also thrilled to get one of his key squad members tied down.

‘It’s fantastic news that we’ve been able to extend it. Mathieu played a very important part in the second half of last season and showed what a good player he is at this level and now he has a great opportunity to build on that.’

Baudry’s deal is another positive step as Orient look to keep hold to the key players of one of their strongest ever squads.
