Martin Ling has wasted no time in setting about his new plans for next season with no less than five players joining John Mackie in being shown the door at Brisbane Road.

There is little controversy over Ling`s decisions with sentiment perhaps being the only reason that fans might disagree with the manager.

Derek Duncan, Phil Mulryne and Donny Barnard were never first team players, nor do they have the potential to hold down a first team place.

Justin Miller has his fans, but his lapses in concentration, which have occurred all too frequently this season has ultimately cost him. There`s no doubt that the former Ipswich man has talent, but his failure to improve defensively has been shown up far too often this season.

Shane Tudor was an integral part of the promotion winning side last season, but the diminutive winger has failed to sparkle this campaign. His willingness to go to ground and his petulance has seen many O`s fans grow frustrated with the former Cambridge man.

Having said that, Tudor does have the ability to be a good player, it`s just that he will not get the chance to do so at Brisbane Road.

Martin Ling has made some brave decisions and decisions that look to be the correct ones. Ling has already said that this summer will be his busiest ever and with the way he`s started, it`s difficult to disagree with him.

Vital Orient would like to thank all five players for their contributions to LOFC and wish them all the best with their careers and their futures.
